Heather Wettlaufer has a robust background in civil litigation and complex case management. She started building the foundation of her legal career as a paralegal in civil rights cases, gaining valuable experience in building the backbone of discovery and trial preparation for children who were abused in foster care.
After graduating from law school, Heather worked in the Multnomah County Circuit Court as a Presiding Clerk, ensuring the smooth operation of court proceedings and assisting both judges and attorneys with procedural matters. This experience provided her with a unique, behind-the-scenes understanding of courtroom dynamics and judicial decision-making.
Heather then served as an attorney with Multnomah Defenders, Inc., where she managed numerous cases and guided clients through every stage of their legal matters. In this role, she conducted detailed client interviews, negotiated resolutions, drafted motions, and presented arguments in court. Heather’s work with MDI strengthened her ability to analyze complex issues swiftly, communicate clearly, and advocate effectively for clients— skills she now brings to her work at Allegiant.
Heather earned her J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School and her B.S. in Social Sciences from Portland State University.
