Estate Trust & Litigation Attorney

Allegiant Law is a nine-attorney plaintiff litigation firm in Portland. We try cases. We're hiring a litigator to build our estate and trust litigation practice.

The work

Contested probate, will and trust contests, fiduciary breach, undue influence and capacity claims, elder financial abuse. You'll run your own matters start to finish: case strategy, discovery, motions, negotiation, and trial. You'll also have a real hand in how you want to build this practice.

If you've been waiting for a chance to own something instead of staffing someone else's docket, this is it.

Who we're looking for

You've been in court and you're comfortable there. Depositions, motions, hearings, trials. Actual courtroom time matters to us more than years on a resume.

You don't need estate and trust experience. We'd rather teach estate and trust law to a strong litigator than hire someone technically qualified who doesn't enjoy the work. If you're coming from personal injury, commercial litigation, family law, or anywhere else contested, we want to hear from you.

You like running cases and you like clients. Someone who keeps matters moving, returns calls, and finds the work of guiding a person through a bad situation genuinely satisfying.

You can handle families. These cases are almost never only about money. You'll be working with people at a low point — grieving, upset, and often litigating against other family members. Steadiness, plain talk, and patience matter as much as legal skill.

You want independence with backup. You'll have room to make your own calls. You'll also have eight attorneys down the hall to think through a difficult legal theory or strategy.

What we offer

  • Meaningful work over billable hours
  • Support to build the practice as your own
  • Training and up-to-date technology
  • Robust benefits including 401(k), healthcare, paid parental leave
  • Compensation: Base starting at $120,000 depending on experience, with origination and production bonuses on top.

To apply

Send your resume and a writing sample to Ashly Brady, who keeps us all on track, at ashly@allegiantlaw.com. All applications will be kept in strict confidence. And if you'd rather just call and talk it through before sending anything formal, we welcome that too.
